An area will be cleared once all three players step on the Triforce gateway at the end. If all hearts are lost, one life will be taken from the team. One heart will be lost when taking damage or falling off the edge of the map. Hearts are shared between all three players. Players can communicate with a numer of customized emoticons activated via the touch screen, band together using new totem mechanics to boost powers, and coordinate to solve puzzles. Multiplayer can only be played with three players simultaneously in all three modes: local (players own cartridges), download play, and online.
